Jiu Jitsu World League 2023 Season For the Texas Region.
Our @CarlosMachadoJiuJitsuMidCities team showed up to 6 Jiu Jitsu World League Texas events in 2023.
We maintained a 1st place lead all year and then were passed up at the last minute by 2 big powerhouse BJJ academies from Houston. Our team fell back into 3rd place a few weeks prior to the November 18th, 2023 Jiu Jitsu World League Texas Region Finals were held at the Comerica Center in Frisco, TX.
Our amazing team came through like never before and had an outstanding year end performance worthy of huge praise.
The Medal Count was superb and equates to vital points we desperately needed to climb back into 1st place position and also finish 1st for the 2023 season in both Gi Academy and Elite 8.
Our athletes achieving 9 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals and 3 Bronze against the toughest competition here in Dallas Fort Worth and Texas in General.
The podium results generated 422 Gi Academy Points which was enough to overcome the 350 deficit whereby not only securing the 1st place for Gi Academy 2023 Season in Texas, but we also we secured 1st Place in Elite 8 for the 2023 Season as well in the Texas Jiu Jitsu World League Region and moved up into 4th Place Academy in the National Global Rankings for ALL regions.

This was the most proficient and epic day for our Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu Mid Cities team which is only 4 years old and competing against some of the biggest and elite BJJ academies in DFW run by world class legends of Jiu Jitsu such as Master Carlos Machado, Formiga, Francisco Lo, Samuel Nagai, Alex Martins, and many more.
The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community in Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex is world class.
Austin Texas is also another new mecca of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu where the best of the best train.
With legendary names like Gordon Ryan, John Danaher, Craig Jones, Garry Tonon, Xande Ribeiro, Nicholas Meregali and many more having moved to Austin, Texas to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Texas as a state now has a huge BJJ community.
When you combine DFW, Houston, San Antonio and Austin alone as well as the areas in between, you truly have a very thriving and elite Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community.
